Balchip Corporation of Vaughan, Ontario and its predecessors have been researching and developing organic based fuel additives and lubricants since 1953, under the supervision of the Company's founder and President, Paul Deogrades, a bio-chemist and researcher by training.
From the beginning, the functions of Balchip's products were to perform as rust inhibitors and lubricants; the goal was to use only renewable organic raw materials to produce superior performance products. |

To date, all Balchip products are derived from plants and trees, are completely bio-degradable, environmentally friendly, and have been exhaustively tested to prove they match or exceed the performance of any other similar purpose product on the market today.
Paul Deogrades conducted extensive research to develop Balchip Corporation's additives between 1953 and 1969. Then, in 1969, Balchip Corporation was founded in the Philippines to test market the products developed by Mr. Deogrades. Companies targeted as customers initially included such fuel giants as Shell, Esso, Caltex, Mobil, and other industrial companies. These companies performed their own tests on Balchip Corporation's products and responded favourably because they found the additives to work as claimed by Balchip Corporation. Esso engineers endorsed the products to the U.S. Military (naval base operations) which placed an annual blanket purchase order with the Company for the supply of its additives; this later culminated in a lifetime contract agreement to replace the annual purchase orders.
In 1975, Mr. Deogrades received a top Science Award in the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Categories for his research and development of Balchip Corporation's products.
The Company submitted product samples and test results to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for evaluation and approval. The EPA registered and approved all of Balchip's products on December 22, 1977 .
The Philippines Department of trade invited the Company to participate in the 1977 Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto to exhibit its products. As a result of the response at that exhibit, the Company moved its operations to Vaughan , Ontario , Canada in 1978.
The Company has continued its product research, development and testing and has invested substantial time and money to ensure that its products continue to meet all current standards. Balchip Corporation has retained various independent and well recognized and respected testing organizations, including Southwest Research Institute of the United States , and Technical Service Laboratories of Canada. All test reports, without exception, have shown that Balchip products are of superior performance, while remaining environmentally friendly and totally biodegradable.
The Company is a member of many trade associations including, APAA, AIA, SEMA, PAS, SAE, CE, ASLE and has participated in various auto, truck and hardware shows throughout the United States and Canada to gain exposure for its products. In 1993, the Company was invited by the Ontario Ministry of Trade and Regional Expansion to participate in the SEMA/AIA show in Las Vegas , Nevada , U.S.A. ; as a result of that show, the AIA presented the Company with its New Product Packaging Award.
To date, the Company has proven its ability to research, develop and begin the commercialization of its superior products. It has realized those achievements through the hard work, dedication and financial contributions of private investors, including its founder and employees.
